On November 3, 2025, the Canadian College of Public Health co-hosted a community health workshop titled “Blood Sugar Management & Nutritional Balance” at Splendid China Mall. The guest speaker, Rose, shared valuable insights on how balanced nutrition supports healthy blood sugar regulation and reduces risks associated with metabolic disorders.

After the lecture, participants took part in a hands-on cooking workshop as part of the “Nourishing Connections to Combat Loneliness by Cooking” initiative. Together, they prepared a nutritious corn chowder and ham & cheese wrap, learning practical tips on combining taste and health while enjoying a warm, friendly community atmosphere.

This event was funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, supporting initiatives that promote wellness, connection, and lifelong learning among seniors through interactive and educational experiences.
